Redlegs make splash in International market
The Cincinnati Redlegs announced today the signing of Japanese 2B John Baek to a Major League contract with a bonus of $22.5 million dollars. Baek projects as a ++ bat due to his ability to consistantly take great at bats against both righties and lefties. He should draw plenty of walks and is a blazer on the bases, ++ straightline speed with above average baserunning skills. Knocks on Baek include his defense, where he will be stretched at 2B and should probably end up in LF, and his durability which might leave him at only 140 games per year. Overall Baek projects as a multiple All-Star and would have likely been a top 5 pick in the Amateur draft.
