Bench 4 - CF – Shawn Broome - Season 14 Rule V draft from the Scottsdale Sidewinders, Pick 14

Best Move – Refusing to trade Ken Daly. Since he was drafted I have received no fewer than 3 trade offers per season for him.

Worst Move - Drafting Shin-Soo Uchida with the 24th pick in Season 12 . I passed over Willie Cedeno, Carl Acker, and Art Wingo to take a career AAAA pitcher.

Philosophy – Montgomery has always traded aggressively while filling in holes with free agent acquisitions. 16 seasons following this philosophy has left the Burns’ minor leagues almost bare and we are now forced to try to build through the draft.
